The receptionist hesitated before handing over the key.
“Room 407,” she said, her voice lowering slightly.
It was just another hotel. Just another stay.
Until midnight.
That’s when the noises began.
Soft at first — like footsteps. Then whispers. Then something heavier… like furniture being dragged across the floor.
Arjun checked the hallway.
Empty.
He returned to the room, heart racing, only to find the mirror fogged — with words slowly forming across its surface.
“DON’T STAY.”
The next morning, he asked about the room.
The receptionist paused.
“You checked in yesterday?” she asked.
Arjun nodded.
She swallowed.
“That’s not possible. Room 407 has been locked for years.”
